Multiplying Two Digit Numbers More Than Working Base

Multiplying Two Digit Numbers More Than The Working Base Using Nikhilum Sutra I: In this method we take a common base such that both the numbers are greater than the base. Such type of Techniques of Vedic Maths help us to perform calculations in a much faster way.  Mastering such type of techniques is very essential in Competitive Exams where time is very precious

For example let us take 13 and 17

Step 1: As both the numbers are greater than 10, so we will take the base as 10.

let the base be 10

13       +3

17       +7

Step 2: Now, multiply 3 with 7, we get 21.

Step 3: Now, add diagonally 13 with 7 or 17 with 3, We will get 20

Step 4: Multiplying with the base 10 and adding 21.

Thus, answer is 221.
